Living Sober through the Psalms

Sober Thought of the Day
“Always do sober what you said you’d do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.”  Ernest Hemingway

This Psalm makes me think of gratitude. I’m grateful for this life of sobriety. The things I miss cannot compare to the things I’ve gained from trudging this road of happy destiny. As it says perfectly, “From his distress He saved him.”  Number 9

Psalm of the Day
Responsorial Psalm PS 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7

R. (9a) Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.

I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall be ever in my mouth.
Let my soul glory in the LORD;
the lowly will hear me and be glad.

Glorify the LORD with me,
