The NCCA was originally founded in 1949 through the work of an American Catholic priest- Fr. Ralph Pfau. Through Fr. Pfau’s dedication and commitment, many Catholic priests, religious and lay persons found recovery and were restored to the faith family, leading productive and hopeful lives. Carrying out Fr. Pfau’s example and dedication, the NCCA continues as an educational forum for the understanding of alcoholism and other addictions. In the Body of Christ, when one suffers, all suffer. With healing, through the grace of God, the Church is strengthened.
